Trent Reznor Back With Record Label, Thanks Radiohead
You have to give the man credit for trying. Trent Reznor was quick to jump aboard the "release music directly to fans" business model. While it worked in his favor initially, a recent trip to Prague has made the Nine Inch Nails frontman reverse his decision; He'll be releasing How To Destroy Angels' first EP via Columbia this November.
He confirmed the decision with David Byrne (Talking Heads) at the Aratani/Japan America Theatre in LA recently.
We're playing in Prague, but I see flyers up for Radiohead, who are playing the same place we’re playing, six months from then. Then I walk into the record shop, and there isn’t a section that says Nine Inch Nails.
Looks like not seeing NIN in record stores was starting to get to him. The decision does seem a bit odd considering the exposure he's received following the highly successful soundtracks for The Social Network and Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.
